Eugene Farris

Eugune Farris, age 78, a resident of Middle Fork in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at his daughters home at Dwale, Kentucky with his family near. Mr. Farris was born October 17, 1937 in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of the late Dennie and Carrie Montgomery Farris. Also, proceeding in death is son, Lester Farris; daughters, Caroline Farris, Amaye Farris; brother, Jimmy Farris; grandchildren, Anthony Perkins, Rose Farris; and great grandchild, Brittany Wondaal. Mr. Farris was employed by the Culver Academy conducting horsemanship on a daily basis until his retirement. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Those left to mourn includes wife, Violet Eileen Clinger Farris, whom he married January 28, 1974; sons, Timothy Chaney and wife Marsha or Argos, Indiana, Tommy Chaney and wife Karen of DeLong, Indiana, Larry Farris of Rochester, Indiana, Alviegene Vore and wife Tiffany of Corydon, Indiana; daughters, Stella Farris Kauffman of West View, Kentucky, Pamela Miller of Salyersville, Kentucky, Tammy Pope of Dwale, Kentucky, Trella Miller of Salyersville, Kentucky, Cammie Mitchell of Salyersville, Kentucky, Diana Collins of Cynthiana, Kentucky; sisters, Essie Brown of Jackson, Kentucky, Faye Patrick and husband Odell of Salyersville, Kentucky, Ines Prater and husband James of Culver, Indiana; forty-three grandchildren, sixty-two great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Also, surviving is a host of family and friends who love and miss him. Funeral services for Eugene Farris will be conducted Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Leonard Blanton and Floyd Allen will deliver comforting words on the day of services. Interment will follow in the Brown Cemetery on Rube Patrick Fork in Jackson, Kentucky. The family will welcome friends Monday, August 22, after 5:00 PM, Tuesday, August 23, after 10:00 AM, and anytime prior to funeral services Wednesday, August 24. Arrangements are under the direction of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky.
