Norma Jean Moore Bailey, age 79, a resident of Royalton Road in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Bailey was born July 8, 1935 in Mousie, Kentucky the daughter of the late Jim and Emma Thornsberry Moore. Also, proceeding in death is husband, Byron Junior Bailey, whom she married July 14, 1951; two sons, James Earl Bailey, Billy Ray Bailey; sister, Anna Lean Nickles; brothers, Birch Moore, Dencil Moore; Son in laws, Gary Simpkins, Johnny Simpkins; daughter in law, Margie Smith Bailey; and grandsons, Frankie Lee Bailey, Chad Byron Barnett. Mrs. Bailey was a devoted mother and member of her family. Often raising and helping out family and friends in need. She was a member of the Salyersville Pentecostal Church in Salyersville, Kentucky. Those left to mourn include daughters, Joy Collins and husband Mike of Salyersville, Kentucky, Rosa Lee Joseph and husband Tommy of Royalton, Kentucky, Betty Simpkins and companion Ernie Newsome of Salyersville, Kentucky, Offie Marshall and husband Jim of Sitka, Kentucky, Sheila Bailey and husband Johnny of Salyersville, Kentucky; Tina Bailey and companion Jesse Russell of Salyersville, Kentucky, Linda Barnett and husband Chad of Adrian, Michigan, Donna Allen and husband Matt of Royalton, Kentucky; sons, John "Bo" Bailey and wife Wanda of Salyersville, Kentucky, James Wendell Bailey and wife Bertie of Salyersville, Kentucky, Ricky Bailey of Salyersville, Kentucky, Homer Bailey and wife Billie of Salyersville, Kentucky, Wesley Fletcher of Salyersville, Kentucky, sisters, Allie Pack of Knott County, Kentucky, Janovie Conley of California; brothers, Vernon Moore of Indiana and Virgil Moore of Salyersville, Kentucky. Also, surviving are thirty-three grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren, nine great great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends who love and miss her. Funeral services Norma Jean Bailey will be conducted Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home. Clergy Phillip Puckett, Paul Howes, and Lloyd Ward will deliver comforting words on the day of service. Interment will follow in the Captain Powers Cemetery off Lakeville Road in Salyersville, Kentucky. The family will welcome friends Tuesday from 6:00 till 10:00 PM, Wednesday from 10:00 AM till 10:00 PM, and anytime prior to funeral services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky.
